Iran is a land of breathtaking contrasts—from snow-capped mountains and lush forests to vast deserts and tropical islands. Because of its diverse geography, the best time to visit depends on where you want to go and what kind of experience you're looking for.
🌿 Spring (March to May)
Spring is one of the best times to explore Iran. The weather is mild, flowers are in full bloom, and cities like Shiraz and Isfahan look even more magical. It's perfect for:
Strolling through Persian gardens (like Eram Garden in Shiraz).
Hiking in the Alborz or Zagros Mountains.
Visiting cultural sites without the summer crowds.
☀️ Summer (June to August)
Unless you're heading to the Caspian Sea or mountainous areas, summer can be brutally hot—especially in deserts like Dasht-e Lut (where temps can hit 50°C/122°F!). Skip cities like Yazd and Kerman in July-August unless you love sweating.
🍂 Autumn (September to November)
This is the golden season for travel! The heat fades, skies are clear, and places like Kashan, Yazd, and Tehran are at their best. Even the deserts (like Kalut) are pleasant. Just keep in mind:
Late October can still be warm on southern islands (Qeshm, Hormuz).
Mountainous regions (Kurdistan) start getting chilly by November.
❄️ Winter (December to February)
North & Mountains: Freezing but great for skiing (Dizin Resort!).
South (Bandar Abbas, Qeshm): Mild (15-20°C)—ideal for beach lovers.
Cities (Tehran, Isfahan): Cold but crowd-free, with cozy tea houses waiting.
Pro Tip: Want the best of everything? Aim for late September to early November—you’ll get perfect weather, fewer tourists, and stunning autumn colors.
